Rachel
Hi! I’m founder of Culture Curious. Passionate about sharing Singapore’s history, I became a licensed Singapore tour guide and count myself lucky to meet with travellers from far and wide.
Prior to Culture Curious, I worked as Education and Audience Engagement Manager for over a decade at National Gallery Singapore and National Museum of Singapore. It has been a dream come true to bring history alive through walking tours of Singapore, stemming from my deep interest in art and history. My interest in Singapore’s development and city planning also led me to a stint as Executive Manager with the Urban Redevelopment Authority, where I led tours for foreign delegations and educators.
A huge history lover with a big appetite for “die-die-must-try” (a term in Singlish which means something that is so good that you have to try it) Singapore street food, I can’t wait to show you my Singapore, the local way!
"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes" - Marcel Proust
Corliss
I’m Corliss, a Singapore tour guide bilingual in English and Chinese. Learning new languages is my way of connecting to cultures; currently I’m learning Hindi, Korean and Japanese.
Cheery and carefree, I’m a wanderlust at heart and understand that beyond the history and culture of a place, the best experiences are shaped by amazing encounters and secret sights. Outside of work, I’m a volunteer guide with local community groups passionate about advocating for arts and heritage.
Prior to becoming a guide, I gained varied work experience in business, education, and banking.
"Leave the road, take the trails" - Pythagoras
Martine
Born and educated in Belgium, I lived in Hawaii for years where I started my family before choosing Singapore as home nearly 3 decades ago. Being fluent in English, French and Dutch, I’m often engaged by Singapore Tourism Board and trade professionals to deliver tours for the media and industry professionals.
As a European expat turned Singaporean resident, I can’t imagine a better way to experience the city than to walk with a local. I’ll show you the hidden secrets that only locals know and show you what Singapore life and culture entails.
“If I'm an advocate for anything, it's to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river. The extent to which you can walk in someone else's shoes or at least eat their food, it's a plus for everybody" - Anthony Bourdain
