We recommend bringing a hat or umbrella, and your guide will take care of the route so you can continue enjoying the tour comfortably.

Enjoy panoramic views of Marina Bay while learning about one of Singapore’s most recognisable national symbols that has become an enduring icon of the city’s famous skyline.

Opened in the 1980s, Chinatown Complex was built to relocate many of Chinatown’s former street hawkers, helping transform the itinerant street food scene into the hawker centres Singapore is famous for today. As Singapore’s largest hawker centre and market, it remains an important part of the neighbourhood’s heritage and a showcase of the country’s diverse food culture.

Discover how visionary planning transformed reclaimed land into one of the world’s most impressive urban waterfronts, home to a striking skyline and some of Singapore’s best-known landmarks.

Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is one of Singapore’s most prominent Buddhist landmarks. Inspired by the architecture of China’s Tang Dynasty, the temple was built to house a sacred relic believed by devotees to be a tooth of the Buddha. Beyond its impressive architecture, travellers on our Singapore City Tour will get to observe religious practices and gain insights into the role of Buddhism within Singapore’s multicultural society.

Tekka Centre is one of Little India’s busiest landmarks, bringing together a wet market, hawker centre and shops under one roof. Its roots go back to the old Tekka Market, built in 1915 near Serangoon Road, in an area once associated with cattle trading and early market life. Today, Tekka Centre offers a vivid glimpse into Singapore’s multicultural food culture, from fresh produce and spices to South Indian food. For visitors, it is a useful stop to understand Little India not just as a heritage district, but as a living community where food, trade and daily life continue to meet.

Housed within Singapore’s former Supreme Court and City Hall buildings, National Gallery Singapore is one of the country’s most important cultural landmarks. Beyond its renowned collection of Southeast Asian art, the site played a significant role in Singapore’s political history and offers a deeper look at the country’s civic, cultural and architectural heritage.

The Singapore River was the centre of Singapore’s trading economy during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Once lined with warehouses, merchants and bumboats transporting goods across the region, it played a vital role in the city’s growth as a trading port. Today, the revitalised waterfront offers a glimpse into Singapore’s transformation from a colonial settlement into a global city.

One of the most recognisable landmarks in Singapore’s Civic District, Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall has stood at the heart of the city for more than a century. Originally built during the colonial era, the complex reflects Singapore’s architectural heritage and continues to serve as an important venue for the performing arts.

The Fullerton Building served as Singapore’s General Post Office and was once an important hub for communications and trade in the British colony. Positioned at the mouth of the Singapore River, it occupied a strategic location connecting the historic commercial district with the civic centre. Today, the restored neoclassical landmark is home to The Fullerton Hotel and stands as a reminder of Singapore’s colonial past and transformation into a global metropolis.

Established in 1945, Kim Choo Kueh Chang is one of Singapore’s best-known Peranakan businesses and is particularly famous for its traditional rice dumplings, or bak chang. Beyond its food offerings, the family-run establishment provides insights into Peranakan culture, heritage and culinary traditions that continue to be passed down through generations.

Koon Seng Road is one of Singapore’s most photographed heritage streets in Joo Chiat, known for its colourful pre-war shophouses and distinctive Peranakan architecture. The street offers a glimpse into the culture and traditions of the Peranakans, whose heritage reflects centuries of cultural exchange between immigrant communities and local populations across Southeast Asia. Their unique customs, cuisine and architecture form an important part of Singapore’s multicultural identity.

Located in the historic Kampong Glam district, Arab Street is known for its traditional shophouses and cultural heritage. The street developed as a centre for merchants and pilgrims from the Arab world and remains closely associated with Singapore’s Muslim community. Today, it offers visitors a blend of history, traditional trades and street art within one of the city’s most vibrant heritage precincts.

Optional Experiences and Enhancements

A Singapore River Cruise offers a relaxed way to see the city from the water on an approximately 40-minute journey. Following a historic route once used by bumboats and trading vessels, the cruise passes areas such as Boat Quay, Clarke Quay and Marina Bay, with views of old bridges, historic shophouses, civic landmarks and the modern skyline. A good add-on for travellers who want a scenic break from walking while still connecting Singapore’s trading port past with the city you see today. If you’re interested to book this experience, please get in touch with us after booking the tour and we’ll send you a secure card payment link.

Depending on your interests and tour duration, your local guide can introduce you to a hawker centre where you may enjoy a meal during the tour at your own expense. For a full-fledged food tour, you may consider our Private Street Food Tour with 9 to 10 tastings of local food and refreshments included.

Gardens-by-the-bay-Cloud-Forest

Ranked the world’s third top attraction in Tripadvisor’s 2026 Travellers’ Choice Awards, Gardens by the Bay is one of Singapore’s most iconic landmarks and a showcase of the city’s bold vision as a “City in a Garden”. Reviews from our Travellers

”As a very experienced world traveler, i have worked with dozens of local guides. Rachel Chen and her Culture Curious team was among the best guiding experiences I have ever had. Over three days, my family (age from 22 to 85) were informed, fed, assisted, and thrilled. Rachel and her team were informed and wise not only about landmark history, but also the intricacies of the Singapore economy and government…”

TripAdvisor review ~ Cody E

We had 4 excellent days of touring with Culture Curious Singapore Tours … starting with an outstanding architectural tour which doubled as a great introduction to Singapore followed by a wonderful food tour, a cultural neighborhood tour, and finally a tour centered on WW II history in Singapore.

We have had *many* tours around the world and I can say with confidence that these were some of the best. Not only are tour guides Rachel, Kelvin and Chris highly knowledgeable, they went above and beyond taking care of us with tips, links, taxi help, and much much more. We felt completely welcomed and comfortable with all of them, so not only did we learn what we came for, but we chatted about anything else that came up … from how real Singaporeans afford to live, to wedding customs, to durian tasting, to public transportation and so much more!!!

Consummate professionals, Rachel and co personified gracious hospitality and joy in sharing their city and country with us. We would highly recommend Culture Curious to anyone.

“Had an amazing experience on our tour with Kelvin! Multiple markets, incredible bites, and thorough cultural and historical lessons along the way! Kelvin was fun balanced with exceptional knowledge of the country, the region, the cultures, and the food! Each stall has its own history, which Kelvin always made a point to ensure we understood. We met the people behind the food and watched as Kelvin engaged with a community he’s clearly built over years of being wonderful at his work! Deeply recommend!”

TripAdvisor review ~ Molly Harwood

Fantastic tour with Rachel who adapted and tailored the tour around our interest In Singapore history and culture. We’d visited 30 years ago and much had changed and in other ways not. Visiting China Town, the Singapore City gallery fascinating to learn about the city’s development and approach to planning. The Hindu temple we popped into was conducting a lively and beautiful ceremony. We finished off with a visit to the top floor of a public housing building which was really interesting and offered great city skyline views. I had a bit of a sore throat and Rachel took me to a herbalist in China town for cough syrup and throat sweets. What a wonderful memorable afternoon. Thank you
